1. Overview
The Alliance Games (AllG), formerly the University Alliance Cup (UAC), ****is a bi-annual competition hosted by AcadArena. It rallies the best teams across campuses and student clubs in the Philippines who are members of the AcadArena Alliance program. In 2022, the AllG includes five (5) esports titles:
Major Events
- Valorant
- Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
- Call of Duty: Mobile
Minor Events
- League of Legends
- Wild Rift
2. Eligibility
2.1 Team Eligibility
- Alliance. Teams must belong to an active member of the AcadArena Alliance program to participate in the Alliance Games.
- Deadline of application for the Alliance is on April 5 at 5:00 PM.
- Accepted Alliance members will be given the AllG registration link.
- They must submit their rosters by April 9 to participate.
- Official List of Active AcadArena Alliance Members
- Team Count. An Alliance Organization representing a campus will only be allowed to send one (1) team per game.
- Game Participation. An Alliance Organization may participate in any number of games featured in the Alliance Games. It is NOT required to have a team for all five (5) games.
- Schoolmates. All players on a team must be from the same campus.
- Players from different school branches may NOT form a team together
- E.g. UP Diliman & UP Los Baños
- Players from sister schools may NOT form a team together
- E.g. Mapua University & Malayan Colleges of Laguna
- Players from Senior Highschool programs belonging to a college or university MAY form a team with players from the undergraduate programs of the same college or university
- Ateneo de Manila Senior High School & Ateneo de Manila University
- Roster Size. Across all games, teams will be required to have at least five (5) and no more than seven (7) eligible players on its roster at all times.
- Roster Adjustments. Teams will be allowed to make roster adjustments during the period between Tournament Stages (E.g. Play-Ins → Groups or Groups → Playoffs). Teams may only make a maximum of two (2) adjustments to their roster during each roster change period. Roster changes can be accomplished by completing the roster change form provided by AcadArena Officials.
- Team Staff. A team will be required to designate an individual as the manager for the team. The manager will be responsible for all communication between AcadArena Officials and their team. The same individual can represent the organization as a manager for more than one (1) game.
- Brand Restrictions. Team and Player Names may not contain: vulgarities or obscenities; derivatives of products or services that may create confusion or names of other established players or personalities fictional or otherwise (e.g. UPD Colgate, UST Faker, LG Spongebob). These restrictions will be applied solely at the discretion of AcadArena Officials.
- Team Brand. Teams must ensure that the logo and branding used to represent their team are original works and do not violate any copyright or such. AcadArena will not be responsible for any legal action made against the offending team for the aforementioned reason.
2.2 Player Eligibility
- Enrollment Status. All participating students must submit proof of enrollment that shows either the following:
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program of the respective campus in the most current semester
- Enrollment in a Senior Highschool program of the respective campus in the most current semester
- Enrollment in a masters program of the respective campus in the most current semester
- LOA & Fresh Graduates. Students who have applied for a Leave of Absence or have recently graduated within the past six (6) months of the start date of the Alliance Games will be allowed to participate in the Split
- Pros. There are NO eligibility restrictions for players participating in professional esports leagues or belong to professional esports organizations. However, AcadArena Officials will comply with any requests, rules or regulations originating from any professional esports institution that bars players from participating in collegiate events. AcadArena Officials will NOT entertain any schedule or roster requests due to professional commitments or conflicts.
- One Event. An individual player may only register for one (1) game title in the Alliance Games. A player is not allowed to participate in multiple games.
- Player IGNs. Player IGNs should be consistent between seasons of the Alliance Games. For example if a player registered as “TenS” in Season 2 they must retain the IGN “TenS” for Season 3. Requests to have player IGNs adjusted will be approved on a case by case basis.
3. Structure
3.1 Alliance Leaderboard

Summary. Alliance organizations will accumulate points based on their teams performances across the five (5) Alliance Game titles. Alliance organizations and clubs will be rewarded based on their overall standings in the Alliance Leaderboard with the Alliance organization at the very top being declared the Overall Alliance Games Champion.

Points System. The points for the Alliance Leaderboard will be awarded as follows:

Prestige. The top 5 campuses that have the most points will be known as the All5.
- Each of the All5 campuses will receive an exclusive AcadArena Scholarships & Aid (ASA) fund of P30,000 just for their students.
- Other rewards will be announced at a later date.
3.2 Major & Minor Events

Major Events. Major Events are game titles in the Alliance Games with the largest presence and demand. Major Events have a longer split, going from Play-Ins → Groups → Playoffs along with more broadcast dates.

Minor Events. Minor Events are game titles that may not be as large or have the strongest presence in the AcadArena ecosystem but still have a loyal and strong community supporting the event. The major distinguishers between Major and Minor events are the duration of the split, number of broadcast days and prize pool allocated.
In Minor Events, teams go straight from Play-Ins to the Playoffs with only eight (8) teams for Play-Ins proceeding to the Playoffs Stage. The Playoff Stage of the Minor Events will be broadcasted on AcadArena channels. Minor Events may be promoted to Major Events or dropped from subsequent splits of Alliance Games after review by AcadArena Officials and Alliance Committee members.
3.3 Play-ins
- Seeded Play-in Teams. For the Wild Rift division of Alliance Games, based on their performance in the University Alliance Cup Season 3, the following teams will be provided with a Round 1 bye:
- Play-ins Format. The play-ins format will be a Double Elimination Pools. The number of Pools and teams advancing per Pool varies on a game to game basis. The breakdown is as follows:
3.4 Groups
- Format. For Major Events, Group Stage will consist of sixteen (16) teams from the Play-Ins and in the case of Valorant, the seeded teams from the University Alliance Cup Season 3. Teams will be divided into four (4) groups with at total of four (4) teams per group. Groups will be a Single Round Robin. The top two (2) teams per group will advance to the Playoffs Stage.
3.5 Playoffs
- Major Events Bracket. The Playoffs bracket for Major Events (Valorant, MLBB, COD:M) will be a Modified Double Elimination Bracket consisting of the Top 2 teams per group from the Group Stage. The top 1 team per group will be seeded in the Upper Bracket with the bottom team per group will be seeded into the Lower Bracket. The playoffs will span a total of two (2) weeks and four (4) days. The bracket is as follows:
- Major Events Format.
- Minor Events Bracket. The Playoffs bracket for Minor Events (League of Legends and Wild RIft) will be a Modified Double Elimination Bracket consisting of the eight (8) qualified teams from the Play-Ins stage. Teams who lost the Play-In Finals per group will be seeded straight into the Losers Bracket. The Playoffs will span four (4) weeks with a total of four (4) broadcast dates.
4. Schedule
- Flexible Scheduling. For non-broadcasted matches, teams will be given an allocated window to play during the week. Teams must schedule their match with their assigned opponent based on both teams availability. Teams must then inform AcadArena officials of their intended match time. Once the scheduled time has been sent to AcadArena officials it will be treated as final and subject to any late penalties.
- Default Schedule. If both teams are unable to agree on a final schedule for their match, teams will be required to play on the assigned Default Schedule. The Default Schedule will be set by AcadArena Officials as each stage of the Alliance Games gets announced.
- Broadcasted Games. Certain matches across all five (5) games will be selected to be apart of the official Alliance Games broadcast. Teams who have been selected to play during the broadcast will be required to play their match on the assigned broadcast date. If a team is unable to commit to a broadcasted match, another match will replace the original match for the broadcast schedule and the flexible scheduling rules will apply. The broadcast breakdown for the split is as follows:
- Schedule Adjustments by Officials. AcadArena Officials, in their sole discretion, have the right to adjust the match schedule to preserve the pacing of the tournament or to remedy such circumstances that may detract from competitive experience. Teams will be given a three (3) day advance notice by AcadArena Officials should the schedule change be deemed needed.
